Welcome to Wrecked!
New Anthology Submission Guidelines
Did you hear the news yet, Cronies? We’re officially announcing our next anthology, Wrecked!
Sarah and I are over the moon to present the fourth offering from Two of Crones, which focuses on the theme “shipwreck”. As fellow writers, we understand keenly that words mean things, so let me take a moment to be clear what we are, and are NOT, looking for.
Yes: maritime/nautical disasters, space ships, air ships
No: car/train/airplane wrecks, relationSHIPS.
Does the mode of transportation usually happen on land? Not what we’re looking for. Are you trying to be clever and use “ships” in regards to relationships only? Not what we’re taking.
BUT! There’s so much that can be done within the confines of this theme. Pirates. Mermaids. Space pirates. Space mermaids! Nautical warfare, steampunk vibes, Cthulhu, man-eating sharks, evil aliens!!! You guys, there’s so much that can be done with this theme!
You just have to make sure the wreck, itself, is a part of the plot. If we could cover up all of the parts of the story that speak to the wreck and the story still makes sense, that’s a no from us, dawg.
With that said, you have eight weeks to dream up, then write up, a short story. Oh, and get it edited by someone who knows what they’re doing, because Bog knows Sarah and I are just winging it.
Now that we’ve got your creativity stoked, I want to give you all an updated version of the submission guidelines that can be found on our website at all times. Sometimes it’s nice to just have everything in one place, right?
5000 word maximum, no minimum, poetry accepted!
The theme must be woven through the story, not just briefly mentioned.
Absolutely NO generative AI! Assistive AI is acceptable. Please learn the difference if you don’t know.
Submissions only accepted via Google Form (see below), NO PDFs, FFS!
You get ONE submission only! We highly recommend hiring a professional editor of your choosing!
NO GRAPHIC RAPE, NO GRAPHIC DEAD CHILDREN/BABIES! C’mon, you guys.
No photos, no special formatting
12 pt font, BLACK, Times New Roman, 1.15 space, space after paragraph
100 or fewer words bio, 3rd person, ONE link only
Accepted authors are required to make at least two marketing posts through their chosen means: one before publication, and one after. You can start with this one or make your own. Then send it to us so we know you did your part.
Rules not followed will result in immediate rejection. Seems a little strict, we know, but every rule we have has a story behind it that we’re happy to share with anyone over margaritas and queso.
Finally, I wanted to let everyone know, in the event that they missed a few emails or what-have-you, that Two of Crones is now available via podcast! We’re having a blast creating these, but after the release of Wrecked we will be putting them behind a paywall. This isn’t because we don’t want to share them with folks, but even as a 501c3, we still have overhead. We usually just cough up the cash for these things to keep our promise of 100% of the proceeds going to charity. To help raise some money to help cover these overhead costs, we’d much rather provide services to you fabulous folks than to take a cut of the sales. For that, we need all y’all’s support.
If you’re in a place where you’d like to help us help other charities, we have information on how to become a paid subscriber at this convenient link. There’s a lot more perks than getting access to the podcast, so check it out!
If you’d rather just toss us a shiny nickel and be done with it, we also have a tip jar available! Every little bit helps, honestly.
I suppose this is the part where I’m supposed to cut the ribbon or something? Wave a starter flag? Crash a bottle of champagne on the side of the boat? Whatever, you guys. Just go write some stories and let us know how it goes! We’ll be waiting for you!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... I may be able to cook something up...
I have a novel on the topic 😆 I guess I can pick a representative chapter, beef it up and submit.
It’s about a crew of 20 people trapped on a severely damaged satellite stuck in hostile space.
